Synthetic Minds

Mechanized technology and artificial intelligence

Wiki

Synthetic Mind is the name given to advanced artificial intelligences. Their ability to process information, act within automated systems, and control machinery gives them strategic value in the technological competition between the blocs.

Development and applications

The Blue Bloc leads the development of high-level Synthetic Minds and auxiliary artificial intelligence systems. Their applications include process automation, information analysis, and the coordination of complex systems.

RUDOLF is a Synthetic Mind designed by the IIAS to analyze geopolitical data and news from both blocs and assess the risk of reaching Midnight. As part of the Doomsday Clock’s response mechanism, it sends instructions and protocols to the Second-Men so they can intervene in crises and prevent escalation.

The IURR’s mechanized bureaucracy

Synthetic Minds are widespread throughout the Union’s administration. Integrated into its bureaucratic machinery, they help coordinate a state apparatus spanning numerous republics and millions of officials.

The Inter-Comintern credits IURR scientists with their development. In reality, the technology used by its administration was obtained through extraction operations conducted by Directive Nine, the VKKB branch specializing in this task.

The AMU question

The existence of Autonomous Mechanized Units has led specialists to suggest that Synthetic Minds may be used in their control systems. However, their unusual and strangely human behavior has baffled Blue Bloc scientists.

How these units operate remains among the IURR’s most closely guarded secrets.
