Directorate of Strategic Reserves
RED BLOC
The Directorate of Strategic Reserves guarantees the IURR’s oil supply and uses fuel supplies as an instrument of foreign influence. Its work combines reserve security with intervention in agreements and routes affecting the international market.
Oil and nuclear technology
Cores are the Union’s most advanced technology, but they have not replaced oil across its vehicles and transport systems. Fuel remains necessary for machinery and systems that do not use compact reactors.
The Mater Zima continues to run on oil. Protecting supplies therefore remains strategically important even within a power that has developed some of the world’s most advanced nuclear systems.
Roles and supply
The Directorate manages reserves, negotiates supply agreements, and protects pipelines and related infrastructure. Its priority is to prevent outside disruption from limiting the Union’s mobility, transport, or activity.
It also intervenes in exports, using prices and supply terms to gain political influence. Its decisions must accommodate Inter-Comintern needs and the interests of oligarchs controlling sectors of the oil economy.
International competition
The agency contests the Diwan of External Affairs’ ability to shape the market. It seeks to prevent agreements promoted from the Jabal Alasid from making Union supplies subject to outside decisions.
Its activities overlap with those of the MIPC in the need to limit the Diwan’s power, but serve its own priorities. The Red Bloc agency uses reserves and oil trade to protect IURR independence and increase its ability to exert pressure abroad.
